Wavelength World
Play Wavelength online with quick rounds, crowd-guessing strategy, and clue-writing competition.
-
Wavelength World is a community-driven version of Wavelength, the board game where a clue-giver
tries to guide guessers to a hidden point on a spectrum.
-
The spectrum might run from something like cold to hot, underrated to overrated,
or harmless to dangerous.
-
On this site, you score points by guessing the average opinion is of everyone else
who plays this game.
Two ways to play
Guessing
-
First, contribute your own honest opinion about where the clue belongs on the spectrum.
-
That personal opinion becomes part of the dataset that generates the "answer" for the clue
for everyone else.
-
Then make the scored guess: where do you think the global average will land after everyone
who answers this clue has weighed in?
-
Your guesser leaderboard score depends on how accurately you place the pin on that global
average opinion, not on whether your personal opinion matches anyone else's.
Cluing
-
The game gives you a target spot on a spectrum and you create a clue that should make other
people land near that target.
-
After people guess on your clue, your cluer score is based on how close their average guesses
are to the target you were shown.
-
Guessers and cluers have separate leaderboards, so you can compete both at reading the crowd
and at writing clues that steer the crowd.
